I have been a patient for over a year, and I can’t recommend him enough! I’ve moved my whole family to his practice because Dr. Chung and his team are AMAZING! I previously had my dental care through a larger dental practice, and I always felt like a number. At the larger dental office, I had a dental crown completed but afterwards I began experiencing a lot of pain due to the gap between the teeth. I was told that there is nothing they can do, and I seriously thought that I would have to suffer indefinitely.
Dr Chung was able to recrown my tooth and now I have NO PAIN! He is so caring, not only for my dental needs but for my well-being. With his encouragement I even stopped smoking which I have been struggling with since the pandemic started. The staff have been fabulous and so helpful. Plus the office is clean and very welcoming. I know my family are in good hands 🙂
I wanted to share how happy and thrilled I am to have found such an amazing dentistry. I have been to my fair share and I have to say this is one of the best experiences I have ever had. Everyone is so kind. Dr. Chung was very thorough, patient, answered all my questions, and made my time there easy and painless. Dr. Chung and his staff are lifesavers! I thought I chipped a tooth two days before my wedding and Dr. Chung was able to get me scheduled to get it fixed! Everyone I came into contact with was kind, personable, understanding and friendly. I’m so thankful to have him as a new part of my care team, as he was the first dentist I’ve had in 10 years that made me feel comfortable.
Dr. Chung is wonderful. He’s thorough, upbeat, and knowledgeable. He took his time answering all my questions. The rest of the staff have were all patient, positive, and professional. I highly recommend this practice!
What a great first appointment! Comprehensive exam with gum check and X-rays, then on to a cleaning. Thorough discussion of options to fix a small gap in my teeth, and now have a plan in place. Friendly staff, spacious and modern offices, felt safe throughout with pandemic precautions in place. Got home and immediately recommended to Mom, who has her own new-patient appointment in a few weeks. 5/5 stars, will be returning every 6 months indefinitely!
Dr. Chung is a remarkable professional, actually deliverying exactly what he has promised. He communicates beautifully, a combination of technical stuff admirably laced with necessary humor. His staff is wonderful, as well, and if you have something intricate dental-wise, these people are the ones to go to. With latest technology as well as astute bedside manner, very hard to beat.
I was referred to Dr. Chung by a friend. Well now she my new best friend. Thanks to her I found one of the most professional compassionate dentists that I’ve ever been too. I’m almost 50 years old and like most have never been a fan of going to the dentist. Dr. Chung was amazing even having to have my first tooth extraction. The staff was also equally as amazing and professional. Not sure what else to say except I will definitely be going back!

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Chung. He and his staff were welcoming and professional. Dr. Chung himself was very thorough for the dental exam and I felt like he was also very personable. His office secretary even sent me an email afterward because she noticed I did not get the teeth whitening kit included with initial evaluation and she sent it to me in the mail. I highly recommend Dr. Chung and his team for dental care.
I’ve been going to this Dentist for a couple years now, they are the friendliest most upbeat staff I’ve met at a Dentist’s office. I would recommend them to my family and friends. They are also about to move into a newer more updated office which I’m sure will only improve their patient’s experience.
A great experience. I have a bit of a dentist phobia, which the well-informed staff were able to assuage, Overall, I am very happy with my cleaning and I am relieved to have found a kind and competent permanent dentist as i have recently relocated to the area.
This is the best dental crew I’ve ever had. John knows his stuff and is very communicative with me. Barb rocks when cleaning 😉 Vicky at the front is super friendly. Prices are very reasonable too as I pay direct. It’s worth the drive if you’re in Portland to get this kind of treatment (I do).
Honestly, 5 stars is not enough. Dr. Chung is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. After leaving a larger chain dental group, I was discouraged and felt like I wouldn’t find any dentist who would listen. THEN… I read the reviews for Dr. Chung and got scheduled for a new patient visit. In the past month almost all of my cavities (which my previous dentist failed to catch) have been filled and if they aren’t filled, I have appointments to get them filled. Making appointments has been so easy and now I don’t dread going to the dentist. The process each time is always so fast (I had an 8:30 appt for 2 fillings and was done by 9) while also being caring and making sure I felt heard. I used to worry about Novocain shots before a filling due to past bad experiences but I have barely felt the ones from Dr. Chung. All of the staff is so friendly and helpful. This office makes me feel like a person and not just a number or a bill. Thank you Dr. Chung and staff for being the best!
This place takes all your anxiety away. Everyone is so kind and is judgment free. They are very thorough on what treatment you need. I definitely recommend this dentist.

Dr Chung and the entire staff are such a delight!!! They’re fun, engaging, and ensure your comfort with each visit. My husband and I are relatively new to the area and are incredibly happy with Tigard City Dental as our new dental care providers. I’ve had good dentists and bad dentists and Dr. Chung is by far the best of them all. Not only is he polite, professional, and kind, he has exceptional dental skills, including the more complex dental issues like crowns and bridges. He has even saved two of my teeth from reabsorption. And his staff is not only exceptional in their jobs, they are top professionals with super personalities. You will have one of the nicest dental visits you can imagine with Tigard City Dental.
I can’t say enough about Dr Chung. I am not one who likes to go to the dentist, but Dr Chung and his staff make it very welcoming. Both the staff and Dr Chung are super professional and deliver on what they say. They are truly the best and when I need an emergency appointment they are always available! Every time I go on o the office I am very comfortable and I feel welcomed. I appreciate everything they have done for me.
I really enjoyed my visit at this location. The staff was tremendously friendly and made me feel as if I had been coming to that office for years. The Dr. was very open and honest about my treatment plan which gave me the confidence to trust his decisions. The Dental Hygienist was AMAZING. She was gentle during my cleaning and did everything in a timely fashion. I always worry about the post gum pain, and I didn’t have any. At the end of my visit, my dental plan was clear as well as what I would be responsible for after insurance. I would highly recommend visiting this location.
I’m a senior citizen and really picky about my dentists. I’ve never had a more competent dentist than Dr. Chung. Plus he’s mercury-free and one of the happiest and most cheerful people I know. I consider him a true friend. All of this rubs off too. Each other person in his office has a great personality and is extremely competent. I look forward to seeing each one of them every time I visit. Look no further ~~ you’ll get the best care here, and as a bonus, you’ll enjoy each visit.
I was in extremely bad pain from my wisdom teeth coming in. I couldn’t find anyone the day after Christmas .They took me when literally no one else would even pick up their phone. They made me feel so much better and relieved when walking out. I was really scared about not getting put under when getting my wisdom teeth removed but John was very nice and comforting the whole way through, he even gave me his headphones so I didn’t have to hear the tools. Hands down best place to go!!!!!
Tigard City Dental takes the SCARY out of going to the dentist. I trust this team with my teeth and their recommendations. Going to the dentist may not be fun or funny but say good bye to having to feel anxious. Seriously, Dr. Chung is a perfect combination of experienced, knowledgeable, up to date and authentic. By far the best dental care I have ever had. All the office staff is great. Dr. Chung does wonderful work. I really appreciate his answering questions and great explanations on procedures. He now has a really cool machine that can mill a crown so that can be done same day so no more second visit or time with a temporary crown. I am very happy about that. I live 85 miles away so quite a drive but well worth it to me to have such a great dentist.
